Beer may be your default drink for Tex-Mex food, but when the wine panel put King Ranch casserole to the test with wine, a range of options emerged.
After sampling four versions of the casserole from takeout delis, we settled on two for the tasting. One, from Eat the World, wowed us with its zesty ribbon of tomatoes and red bell peppers. The other was a towering, triangular serving from Central Market's deli counter. True to tradition, both versions were mildly spiced and plenty cheesy.
